Hi everybody, as some of you may know this weekend Hazelmere Golf and Country Club will play host to the Greater Vancouver Charity Classic golf tournament. This Canadian Tour stop is a great tournament that acts as a proving ground for many up and coming golfers.

Just last year, Abbotsford's James Lepp, played in this tournament. Dr. Chan will be part of the medical team for this event and he will be helping many of these golfers to not only treat injuries but to also keep these athletes in top physical shape so they can perform at their peak.

Chiropractic in Vancouver - Tennis Elbow

Now that the weather is getting nicer, more and more people are out playing tennis. However, Dr. Chan would like to remind you to be wary of Tennis Elbow!! (Also called; Lateral Epicondylitis)

Tennis Elbow is pain on the outside of the elbow usually due to repetitive backhand strokes. If this is affecting you, make sure you ice your elbow immediately following play.

Another helpful tip would be to wear a brace or switch to a two-handed backhand to reduce the pain.

Chiropractic Therapy in Vancouver - Foot Pain

Did you know that your feet are the foundation of your entire body? Many people suffer from foot pain on a daily basis. A hallmark of a common condition called Plantar Fasciitis is morning foot pain. In other words, the first few steps in the morning are very painful.

If this sounds like you, chances are, you are suffering from Plantar Fasciitis. This condition is caused by contraction of the connective tissue under the bottoms of your feet called the Plantar Fascia. In the morning, as you start to walk, you stretch this tissue and cause micro tears that results in pain.

A very effective form of therapy is Orthotic Therapy. These Therapeutic inserts you wear in your shoes can help to stabilize your feet and take pressure off the Plantar Fascia, thus reducing the pain.

As always you can visit Dr. Chan's website at www.drchanchiro.com or call the office!

Doing good for those in need

Okay, so I happened to be reading an article in the newspaper the other day and it discussed the ever present need for food by families who are having a hard time making ends meet.

So here I am thinking of things that I can do to help. Well I've come up with one solution. I will Swim!!! That's right, at the end of July I will be competing in an Open water race called the "Bay Challenge". It is approximately 9-10km long and requires me to swim across the widest part of English Bay, from West Vancouver all the way to Kits Beach.

I will be donating partial proceeds from revenue I earn in my clinic to the Greater Vancouver Food bank. I'm hoping with the proceeds, my patients and I will be able to provide approximately $1000 worth of food to those in need. Wish me luck guys!!!

I got some great news today. EzineArticles.com has given me "Expert Author" status after I submitted a few articles relating to Chiropractic and health. I will try to keep submitting more articles as I know there a tons of common, and not so common problems people don't readily associate with Chiropractic care.

If you have a problem that you want more info about, just let me know. I'll try to post something helpful. As always, if you live in Vancouver, B.C. and are looking for a Chiropractor, you can also visit my website at www.drchanchiro.com
